Devlin shield breaking

This page is set up to describe what people assigned to the shield breakers will be doing during the Devlin Rochester event.

initial setup

No specific channel is required for this duty.   One or more shield breakers will be chosen to work in tandem during the event.

event information

The section below marked in RED, is what shield breakers will be handling.

Devlin has 4 weapon combos: Axe, Whip, Potion, and Daggers

He equips a shield when he uses his Axe, Whip and Potion combos.  We have a special team set up to break his shield.  It's important to not cast on Devlin when he's in these shield forms until we give the go ahead.

As mentioned earlier, each form has a unique ability:

Axe - Once we break shield and engage, there's an AE rampage in this form.

Whip - Devlin picks a random person to send emotes to (like simon says trial, remove weapon emote, duck etc).

Potion - He has a potion that he throws at random people.  He'll emote his intended target, shortly after that, a short range AE DD will go off from the center of where that person was standing when emoted.

Daggers - He hits hard and fast in this form.

during the battle

When Devlin has a shield, he will reflect all spells directed at him.  We can shatter his shield, by alternating fire and ice nukes.

Solo Shield Breaking:

Most of the time, we use a druid to do the shield breaking.  They can use the spell: Winter's Flame which has both a fire and ice component.

Tandem Shield Breaking:

If working in tandem, you must alternate with each other.  Before we engage, you decide who's casting what spell, be it fire or ice.  So one person is doing ICE only, and the other is doing FIRE only.  Once you cast your spell, let your partner know and vice versa.

Devlin will emote when his shield is broken: Devlin Rochester says 'Arggh!  Soandso shattered my shield!

Note:  You may be out of range to see this message, but those closer to Devlin will see it and let it known.  If you want, set up a little audio trigger to help catch it.
