overlord mata muram - dispell team

OMM Mask clicking using a "Mirrored Mask" is a major mechanic behind the event.  This page is set up to explain to specific classes about the gaze and how we need you to counter it on failed mask clicks.

gaze information

Gazes are 1 minute, 10 seconds apart.

Mata Muram's Gaze is in TWO forms: cast and recourse.

Cast: Mata Muram's Gaze

Recourse: Mata Muram's Gaze Recourse

A person has 10 seconds to click their mask in order to avoid the recourse.  Additionally, each mask click failure results in OMM powering up.

mask click mechanic & examples

During the OMM Event, those who have a Mirrored Mask will get a personal gaze emote.

When this happens, we see the following emotes:

Mata Muram fixes his gaze on one of your companions.

Once the person is emoted, they have 10 seconds to click their Mirrored Mask.  If the person clicks their mask within the 10 second window, he/she won't get hit with the gaze spell, and OMM doesn't cast the recourse spell and therefore doesn't get powered up.

Example of a successful mask click:

[Sat Oct 27 21:49:25 2007] Mata Muram fixes his gaze on one of your companions.

10 second window here for the person to click their mask

[Sat Oct 27 21:49:35 2007] Overlord Mata Muram begins to cast a spell. <Mata Muram's Gaze>
[Sat Oct 27 21:49:35 2007] Overlord Mata Muram's spell has been reflected by Breniar.
[Sat Oct 27 21:49:35 2007] Overlord Mata Muram fixes his gaze on Breniar.
[Sat Oct 27 21:49:40 2007] Mata Muram grows weak as he is afflicted with his own magic.

The reflected message means the mask click was successfully done within the 10 second window.  If they don't click their mask in time, OMM casts his gaze on that person and casts a recourse spell on himself which causes him to power up (hit harder etc).

Example of a failed mask click:

[Sat Oct 27 21:48:15 2007] Mata Muram fixes his gaze on one of your companions.
[Sat Oct 27 21:48:25 2007] Overlord Mata Muram begins to cast a spell. <Mata Muram's Gaze>
[Sat Oct 27 21:48:25 2007] Overlord Mata Muram fixes his gaze on Rolynholy.

Next recorded gaze was:
[Sat Oct 27 21:49:25 2007] Mata Muram fixes his gaze on one of your companions.

You can see from the timestamp, 10 seconds elapse and OMM emotes again showing the name of the person.  If no reflect message appears, the person named failed to click his mask within that window of opportunity.

during the battle

Watch the public emotes and powerup calls in channels and dispell appropriately.
