roley - stake groups

This page is set up to describe what people assigned to the stake groups will be doing during the Roley and Adrianna DeFarge event.  In addition, this is to explain to those assigned to do weapon looting, what their role is and how to set up for it.

initial setup

No channel is required.

Stake groups are assigned by number (as referenced in the raid window) and done prior to engage.

event information

The section below marked in RED, is what the Stake team will be handling.

This event consists of Roley DeFarge and his wife, Adrianna.

Both are KoS at the start, but go inactive at different stages.

When Adrianna stops attacking, she'll give a clue on how to defeat Roley.

The clue leads to a location, which has several active mobs guarding a weapon.

These clickable weapons are used on Roley, but only when he's in a prone state.

Every 10% Roley is killed, he enters a prone state and is susceptible to a single weapon click.

For each successful click on Roley, he is killable another 10%.

Each failed click results in Roley healing himself for 10%.

Killing Roley wins the event.

adrianna's emote

When Adrianna changes, she'll emote the following:

Adrianna stirs, as if remembering something terrible.  She ceases attacking and pleads, 'You must destroy us both!  We've become abominations and twisted shadows of our former glory.

Adrianna says: 'There is a small battered chest not far from here.  It contains nothing of intrinsic value, but perhaps you can shatter it and use a fragment of the wood as a weapon against what is left of my husband.  I can take you there if you'd prefer for me to [show] you the way.'

roley's prone emote

When Roley goes prone, he'll emote the following: Roley DeFarge staggers and goes prone

stake area dot

When you port to an area, you'll get hit by a DoT called Fine Red Mist - Disease DoT (50 counters) that does 2250 dmg a tick and lasts an hour.

The Paladin class has two good spells for curing this DoT:

Crusader's Purity - Takes 2 casts
Crusader's Touch - Takes 3 casts

Other classes can cure using similiar disease cures, AA etc.

weapon information

This area covers each weapon, the related object, area and useable classes.

during the battle

Those assigned to this team will be entering various areas to retrieve or provide support for our weapon looters.

When Adrianna does her emote shown above, you will target her and say: show me

You will then be ported to the Library, Crypt or Laboratory.  In this area, you'll be confronted with at least four mobs.

In these areas are battered chests and coffins, which only rogues will detect and open the untrapped ones.  Within the untrapped containers is the weapon.

The weapon will be linked in /rs.  If you're a class that can use it, loot it immediately.

Once the weapon is looted, everyone is ported back to the ballroom.

weapon usage

The weapon must be equiped when you right click it.  You must have Roley on target, and he has to be in a prone state (see above emote).

We keep an active list in /rs, of each stake holder and order they click.

important info - please read!

This is to cover a few common issues that arise during this event.

Port Area Mobs:

Only when we get ported to the Laboratory area, do we kill the zombie for our weapon.  All other port areas we MARK, MEZ and HOLD, while the rogues find the correct container and looting is done.

Early Ports:

Often times, the script will port us out too early, before we've had a chance to loot the weapon.  Usually when this happens in the Library, I escort someone back there quickly and they can loot the chest still.   If you know where the library is, there's a secret door (as if going up to MM's room), in there is where the chests are.  Only if you're confident you know the area, go ahead over and loot the weapon.  Otherwise, just hang in the ballroom for the next port emote.

Stake Holder & Death:

The weapon will dissappear if you die.  So we prefer stake holders not port again once they have looted a weapon.  This way, there is less chance they'll die to the DoT or other factors.  In addition, as people loot weapons, I sub them out of the stake group and put in a new person to loot.  This way we're always sure to have enough usable classes able to loot weapons in the stake groups.

Loot Privileges:

Prior to engage, double check that the raid leader has the loot option set to "Entire Raid", within the raid options window.  I'm mentioning this here, because sometimes I forget to change this, and it prevents others from looting stakes quickly.  Thanks.

Get Cured:

As always, ask for a cure in group if you have the Fine Red Mist DoT on you.
