hatchet emotes & audio triggers

This page is set up to describe the emotes that take place during the event.  In addition, audio trigger phrases are listed that everyone needs to have working.

initial setup

If you don't know how to set up an audio trigger, you can go here for the basic steps.

Make another chat window and set it to "other".  The emotes will then be displayed in this window for quick and easy reading.

audio trigger patterns

During the event, Hatchet does various emotes, which if you do not follow, will result in AE's & DT's.

Below are the patterns you can use for each emote with sample sounds available for download.  Additionally, take note of the required actions that must be taken when emoted.

Each sound clip can be downloaded by right clicking on the filename and selecting "Save Target As..." and saving it inside your "Everquest/Audio Triggers/Default" directory.

Note: If you "left-click" the sounds below, they will most likely sound garbled and crappy.  Download and play them instead for a more coherent playback.  I have put all four of these triggers in a self extracting archive that you can download here.

SOUND PATTERN REQUIRED ACTION
Charge
He's about to charge

Run in a wide circle around the room, don't let Hatchet catch you!  You can stop running when you see the emote: Hatchet the Torturer pauses to catch his breath.

Duck
You should duck

Duck until you see the emote: Hatchet's axe passes harmlessly overhead.

Hide
You should hide

Get between his legs.  OK to move when you see the emote: By darting between Hatchet's hooves, he has no way to strike you.

Run Away
You should get as far away as possible

You are clear when you see the emote: You outdistance the reach of the throwing axe, and it clatters to the floor harmlessly.

important info - please read

Audio Trigger Copy/Pasting:

Watch for leading or trailing whitespace in your patterns.  If there is any, your trigger will not work.  Whitespace is basically spaces without characters, such as the space between these quotes " " is whitespace.

Make the trigger, then test it by typing the phrase in a chat window.  This way you can make sure it's working.

Hatchet Kiting:

Stay away from Hatchet when someone gets the kite emote.  If he catches the person he's kiting, you will die.  It's that simple.

Watch Assist:

When to assist is extremely important during this event.  Our MT's have only a few seconds to move Hatchet towards a trap.  Doing an early engage at this point, hampers the tanks efforts for trapping.  Please always wait for the assist call in /rs.
